Abira

Abira Sinha a born dancer was initiated into formal training by her mother almost simultaneously as she started walking. Her first performance on stage was at the age of 3 and at the age of 7 she gave her first solo Kathak performance for children talent search in Kolkata and won the first place. There was no looking back after that at the age of 9 she participated in a dance ballet for Kolkata Doordarshan. She completed her senior diploma in Kathak from "Prayag Sangeet Samiti" then enrolled herself in Odissi dance under Guru Jhelum Paranjpe and to maintain the rigidity of one particular dance style continued with Odissi. She also regularly attended Late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra's workshop at Bhuwaneshwar and Mumbai.

Abira has a BA degree in history from Mumbai University and a post graduate degree in Travel and Tourism from Sophia Polytechnic. She is an approved artist of Mumbai Doordarshan and has given several dance performances in India ass well as abroad solo and along with her Guru and Mother as well.

Some of her notable solo performances include:
- "Satbhavana Divas" Late Prime Minister Mr. Rajeev Gandhi's birth anniversary at Siri   Fort Auditorium.
- For Yuvak Biradiri at Bangalore Town Hall.
- Participated in Dance with painting at Pune and Lonavala.
- For food and culture festival at Yemen
- At Sheffield UK.
- For Mumbai Doordarshan on several occasions.

Along with academics she pursued dance with full verve. She secured the 1st place in interschool folk dance competition and classical dance competition organised by Sharda Sangeet Vidyalaya. She secured 1st place in Kshitij an inter collegiate festival and 2nd place in Malhar festival and Yuvotsav organised by Yuvak Biradari.

Presently she is working as an executive with a multinational as well as giving dance performances as a thorough professional.
